The fast-growing, spreading succulent has very long cone-shaped shoots, the shoots are up to 10 cm high and 1.5 meters wide, and grow both in sunny and shady places. Loves fertile, moist and well-drained soils. The popular variety is blue. Often, instead of a lawn, it is used as a beautiful ground cover plant - for this purpose it is planted in large groups. It can also be used in rockeries, in front of the Alps, as well as in retaining walls and in compositions with other low-growing conifers.
